Allison Stokke and Alyce Caron
Allison Stokke has been a pole vaulter for over 20 years. She was born on the 22nd of March, 1989, in Newport Beach California. One photo from her track meets at 17 was a viral hit in 2007. This made her pole vaulter. Instagram as well as Twitter have helped her build a large social following. She's an athlete who shares a track record to Jessica Ennis Hill. Los Angeles Times and others have noted that Stokke didn't seek out or seek out such media attention. Brett Hutchins and David Rowe in their book Technology Power and Culture in the Network Society identified Stokke in the context of American soccer player Alex Morgan and Hope Solo, female athletes who they said were sexualized and had their public images presented in a manner that they were unable to emphasize their sports achievements.
